I’ve been a computer enthusiast since the age of 12, when I started out with Windows 95 using CDs of free games offered in some of the magazines of the time (Woodruff still haunts me…😅).
I worked in accountancy for nearly 15 years because I needed a real job (computers weren’t the only thing on everyone’s mind at home), but I decided to retrain during the COVID, particularly after being scammed by the President (which just goes to show how poor our cyber awareness is in 2019).
Following my training, I went freelance early on with the aim of helping the healthcare world, but it didn’t work out… (hence also the choice of song 😉)
I’ve changed my target and now work with freelancers and company directors in all sectors, and the people I’ve helped have admitted to me that they’ve changed their (bad) habits. My greatest reward? When they told me ‘it’s become my daily routine’ 6 months after my intervention.
A genuine curiosity about the field: this speciality is extremely rich and evolves very, very quickly, so there’s no time to get bored.
The protection of those close to me, both in my personal and professional life: as the father of 2 children and involved in numerous networks, it’s impossible for me to carry on as if nothing had happened with everything that’s going on today.
I chose the song ‘Si facile’ by Casseurs Flowters (Orelsan and Gringe’s band).
As I said above, it’s also a reminder of my story with the first failure when I started out.
It’s a mistake that I think a lot of schools are starting to make these days, by taking on students in courses that have just been set up and that unfortunately lack competent teachers, who are in short supply on the market.
And if that’s all there was to it, there are more and more requests for work placements and internships, but we can’t respond to them, because there are still too few companies to respond positively to all these requests.
‘Si tu leur demande l’heure, ils diront qu’il est trop tard
Que la tienne est passée, qu’on ne rattrape pas les retards
Que le chemin qu’ils ont parcouru, t’en as pas fait le quart
Tu te mettras à nu, ils te tailleront des costards’
Being part of the cyber community means being in tune with the dynamic of sharing.
My personal maxim? “Sharing is Strength”.
If you’re looking for a new career, don’t forget that 😉
