Stromae - Carmen

▶️ Bio your way, with a dash of cybersecurity.

As CEO of Custocy, a cybersecurity start-up, I’ve decided to spend my life defending our data against the worst threats.

In between DDoS attacks and ransomware, I always find time to remind people that the passwords ‘123456’ and ‘password’ are not valid options!

My mission? To safeguard our organisations’ digital assets… or at least try to.

▶️ What makes you want to get involved in cybersecurity every day?

The adrenalin!

Cybersecurity is like a treasure hunt in reverse: you protect the treasures before the hackers find them.

And every day there’s a new threat, a new challenge… not to mention the pleasure of discovering what else the hackers have invented to make our lives more complicated!

▶️ Which song have you chosen, with a direct or subtle link to cybersecurity?

I chose Carmen by Stromae.

A song about toxic love and the obsession with social networks – a perfect reflection of our relationship with technology.

As in cybersecurity, we have to be wary of appearances, little hearts and virtual friends.

▶️ Extract that brings the song and cybersecurity closer together.

‘L’amour est comme l’oiseau de Twitter, on est bleu de lui seulement pour 48 heures.’

A perfect example of what we’ve always been trying to say: temporary vigilance, and you’re compromised!

Like security breaches, all you have to do is let your guard down for a moment and everything can change.

▶️ If you’d rather rewrite the lyrics to make them more cyber, go for it.

‘Les données sont comme un serveur vulnérable, tu le vois partout mais jamais à l’heure.

Attention à lui, il pourrait te détruire, tous tes mots de passe qu’il peut chiper !

L’amour virtuel, faut l’éviter de justesse, car les hackers attendent au coin des faiblesses.’

▶️ A conclusion.

Cybersecurity is a bit like a good song: you have to listen, keep the rhythm and, above all, avoid false notes.

So let’s continue to monitor our data, while enjoying the music!

📢 Glossary: Network Detection & Response – NDR

Network Detection and Response (NDR) is a cybersecurity solution that combines advanced analytical techniques and machine learning & AI to detect and respond to suspicious network activity.

It continuously monitors and analyzes raw network traffic to generate a baseline of normal network behavior, alerting security teams to potential threats that deviate from this baseline.

Benefits:

  1. Improved Threat Detection: NDR detects unknown and zero-day threats, as well as known threats that evade traditional security tools.
  2. Enhanced Incident Response: NDR provides timely and accurate alerts, enabling security teams to respond quickly and effectively to security incidents.
  3. Increased Visibility: NDR offers extended visibility into network activity, allowing security teams to identify and mitigate security incidents more effectively.
  4. Reduced False Positives: NDR’s behavioral analytics and machine learning reduce false positives, minimizing the noise and improving the accuracy of threat detection.
