I was born into the IT industry and have a passion for protecting others, so cybersecurity came naturally to me. Today, I try to enable everyone – businesses, organisations and the general public – to live safely in the digital world. For me, @soprasteria and @wocsa are the structures that make this possible.
As a 2nd dan black belt in judo, I have found some of the answers to cybersecurity in this Japanese martial art. So that everyone can defend themselves, I’ve turned it into an open source digital martial art that I had the pleasure of teaching at Defcon last year.
Always looking to evolve, I’ve transformed SOC/CERT practices into Managed Detection & Response so that organisations can have maximum relevance with minimum effort in the fight against cyber attacks.
Enabling everyone to live safely in the digital world.
‘Contraddiction – Mass Hysteria.’
‘Provoquer, provoquer
La contradiction
Pour gagner, pour gagner
La raison’
For me, the refrain says it all:
if you want to have a reasonable vision of things, you have to systematically look for what you don’t see, what you don’t understand and what others, with their different perceptions, bring to the table.
You must never rest on your laurels, especially when defending against cyber attacks, and you must provoke contradiction through adversity (attack/defence or Dr House’s differential diagnosis) and questioning.
This is essential in cyber security.
Always challenge, test and aim for results, never take anything for granted in the digital world or in life.
The term “Head of Managed Detection & Response” refers to the leadership position within an organization or a security service provider responsible for overseeing the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) operations.
This individual leads a team that uses advanced technology and human expertise to monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
The Head of MDR ensures that the organization’s security operations are effective and aligned with best practices, providing strategic direction and managing the day-to-day operations of the MDR team.
